About Our Toys
What are your toys made from?
All our toys are 3D printed using PLA (Polylactic Acid) plastic. PLA is made from renewable plant resources like corn starch and sugarcane. It's biodegradable, non-toxic, and free from BPA, phthalates, and other nasties.
Are they safe for children?
Yes! PLA is non-toxic and food-safe. Our toys are tested with real children in a real nursery every day. They're chunky, solid, and have no small detachable parts. However, as with all toys, we recommend adult supervision for children under 3.
What ages are your toys suitable for?
Most of our toys are suitable for children aged 18 months and up. Our mini vehicles and smaller items are better for ages 3+. Each product listing includes age guidance where applicable.
How durable are 3D printed toys?
Very! PLA is surprisingly tough. Our toys survive daily use in a busy nursery with toddlers. They handle being dropped, thrown, stood on, buried in sand, and dunked in water. If they can survive that, they can survive anything.
Are they waterproof?
Yes. PLA is waterproof, which makes our toys perfect for water play, bath time, and sensory trays. They won't absorb water or go mouldy like some wooden or foam toys.
Care Instructions
How do I clean the toys?
Simply wipe with a damp cloth or wash with warm soapy water. They can be rinsed under the tap after messy play. Do not put them in the dishwasher, microwave, or expose them to very hot water (above 60C) as PLA can soften at high temperatures.
Can they go in the dishwasher?
No. PLA softens at high temperatures, so dishwashers and boiling water are best avoided. A quick hand wash is all they need.
Can they be used outdoors?
Absolutely! Our toys are perfect for outdoor play - sandpits, mud kitchens, water tables, garden play. Just avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for very long periods on hot days, as PLA can soften in extreme heat.
Ordering & Shipping
How long does delivery take?
All items are handmade to order. Please allow up to 5 working days for your order to be printed and dispatched. Once shipped, standard UK delivery is 3-5 working days. You'll receive a tracking email when your order is on its way.
Is shipping free?
Free UK shipping on orders over £30. Standard shipping is £3.50 for orders under £30.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently only ship within the UK. We hope to offer international shipping in the future.
Can I track my order?
Yes! You'll receive a dispatch confirmation email with a tracking number once your order has been shipped.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return an item?
Yes. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods. Items must be unused, in original condition, and returned at your cost. Contact us at sarahs3dprints@gmail.com with your order number to arrange a return.
What if my item arrives damaged?
If your item arrives damaged or faulty, contact us within 7 days with photos and we'll arrange a replacement or full refund including return postage. We check every item before dispatch, but we want to make it right if anything goes wrong.
How long do refunds take?
Once we receive your return, we'll inspect it and process your refund within 14 days to your original payment method.
About Sarah's 3D Prints
Who makes the toys?
Everything is 3D printed and finished by Sarah from her home in England. Sarah is a Nursery Practitioner who prints toys she uses with children every day. This is a small family business, not a factory.
What does "eco-friendly" mean?
Our toys are made from PLA, a plant-based biodegradable plastic. Unlike traditional petroleum-based plastics, PLA is made from renewable resources and will break down over time in industrial composting conditions. We also use minimal, recyclable packaging.
Can I request a custom colour?
We offer a wide range of colours across our products. If you'd like a specific colour that isn't listed, drop us an email and we'll see what we can do! We also offer "Random Colour" options at a lower price if you're happy to be surprised.
